Parthenocissus are vigorous deciduous climbers with either tendrils or disk-like suckers, and lobed or palmate leaves which often colour brilliantly in autumn. Inconspicuous green flowers are sometimes followed by attractive blue or black berries. They originate from North America. The plant itself is very hardy at H6, making it perfect for the UK climate. Only shelter in extreme cold weather. The plant itself can also grow in full shade so bear this in mind. The plant is generally disease free but could have potential pests. Follow the guidelines of pruning group 11 for the winter time. It is possible to prune also in the summer.
